Being a Girl

I know it must cross the minds of most men why women do the things we do.

Why does she have to wear makeup?

Why does she spend so much time getting ready?

Why does she ask me all the time if I think she’s pretty?

Why does she care what that other girl thinks about her?

The whole female world hinges on how one feels perceived. It’s about harmonizing with the world around you yet standing out in some sort of way. This may sound silly, but it’s just how it is.

When a girl feels loved and admired she feels her best. That’s why so many women want to be in relationships. The thought of being around someone that finds you attractive is quite alluring.

We’ve also been taught that being pretty is important so we must always present ourselves in a way that puts our best foot forward. That’s why we spend so much time and money on makeup and our hair. It’s sad to think that more often than not outer beauty is prioritized over inner beauty.

I’ll dare say that pretty much every girl has cried because she simply felt insignificant and unattractive. Every girl I know can pick out their flaws faster than the speed of light.

That’s why we get jealous over beauty spreads in Cosmopolitan. That’s why some days we just want to crawl under the covers and never get out of bed. That’s why we want to smash every mirror on earth with a Louisville Slugger.

We feel inadequate. We feel alone.

And alone is one of the scariest feelings of all.

All women want is love. But then again, don’t we all?

Loads of Love,
